Alpine Citadel · Structural steel enclosure system

Structural steel screen walls and enclosures for industrial and commercial sites

Custom fabricated for any enclosure design. Engineered to ASCE 7-22 for your site, with sealed calculations in all 50 states and an engineering package in under one week.

Engineered for the site

Steel from slab to cap. Engineered for every site.

Alpine Enclosure Systems designs and supplies custom fabricated structural steel enclosures and screen walls for industrial and commercial sites: trash and recycling, compactors, tire storage, equipment yards, mechanical and generator screening, and utility, data center and BESS perimeters. Our system, Alpine Citadel, uses structural steel posts, solid steel slats and heavy-duty gates, engineered for each site.

Alpine Citadel stands on 4 in square structural steel tube posts and 8 in round gate posts, set on ¾ in hot-dip galvanized base plates with ¾ in anchors. Solid steel slats slide in captive and stack tight, bolted only at the top and bottom of each bay, forming a 100% opaque, noncombustible face.

Alpine Citadel system

One engineered system. Every enclosure and screen wall.

Standard heights of 6, 7 and 8 ft, built from 5 to 10 ft. Bays from 15 to 96 in clear. Solid slats, spaced slats or perforated panels. Base-plated or embedded posts. Gates 12 or 16 ft clear standard, 20 ft clear custom. Any RAL color. Every project engineered to ASCE 7-22 for its site.

Proven performance

Engineered, sealed and accepted where you build.

Every Alpine enclosure is designed to ASCE 7-22, with steel per AISC 360 and anchorage per ACI 318 Chapter 17. Each project is checked for its own wind speed, exposure category, risk category, height, anchor type and foundation. Alpine Citadel is accepted in the majority of jurisdictions; where a code names masonry, we provide an alternate-materials submittal with sealed calculations.

Wind and site loads
  • ASCE 7-22 wind speed, exposure and risk category per site
  • Base-plated or embedded posts; nearly any project site accommodated
  • Spaced slats and perforated panels reduce wind load
Corrosion protection
  • Hot-dip galvanized base plates, sleeves and gate posts
  • Electro-galvanized posts, channels and slats; no bare steel
  • Powder coated to Qualicoat standards with UV protection; any RAL color
Cost and schedule
  • Single $15,000–20,000 · double $21,000–30,000 installed, 8 ft, excluding slab and site work
  • Includes the engineering package for standard sizes
  • Typically 1–2 days on site; no continuous wall footing

National programs

One standard detail. Every site engineered.

Alpine has 70+ locations installed, including 60+ for a multi-state tire and automotive service brand. A program gets one standard detail for the prototype drawings, site-by-site layout and engineering, kits packed by site and release, and one price nationwide. Installed by Alpine, or supply-only for your contractor.

Questions engineers, architects and owners ask

Can Alpine build to our architect's drawing?
Yes. Alpine Citadel is custom fabricated for any enclosure design. We solve the layout to the architect's drawing with overall dimensions met within ±1 in, including angles, L-shapes, notches, interior partitions and multi-bay enclosures. You receive a bay schedule, a plan drawing and an engineering package in under one week.
Is steel accepted where a code calls for masonry?
Alpine Citadel is accepted in the majority of jurisdictions for trash enclosures and general enclosure systems. Where a code names masonry, Alpine provides an alternate-materials submittal with sealed calculations and a building-matched finish. The standard solid-slat face is 100% opaque and meets opaque-screening requirements.
How long does installation take?
Typically 1–2 days on a prepared slab. Each enclosure ships as one kit with parts tagged by bay, a packing list and a layout drawing. Posts bolt to base plates on the slab, so there is no continuous wall footing to pour and fewer trades are needed on site.
